A visionary charger that combines the best of both worlds.
The ETAPpro combines the best of both worlds: When the ETAPpro is snapped into the wall mount, you have a standard charger that allows you to charge your car at high power (11 kW), but… when you remove the ETAPpro from the wall mount and connect it to an adapter cable, you have a portable charger that you can take with you anywhere and use at any compatible outlet.
What’s more, it’s a very compact device, yet packed with the latest technology! For example, it can communicate with your digital meter or, in the case of older analog meters, with a small device that measures electricity usage in your meter cabinet. This allows you to account for the capacity tariff, your solar energy, household consumption, and other ETAPpro charging points, ensuring you maintain full control at all times and never blow a fuse or face unnecessarily high electricity bills.
The ETAPpro is easy to use yet offers a wide range of features. The device is configured and monitored via a proprietary app for Android or iOS, and communication with the cloud platform where all data is stored can be done via Wi-Fi or even Powerline (using existing electrical wiring), so you don’t need to run any additional network cables.
Through a user portal, you can easily generate reports on past charging sessions, including the location, the number of kWh, the time, etc.
The ETAPpro is also built for the future; all software updates are performed automatically and securely "over the air," ensuring that the device will be increasingly able to adapt to changing regulations and technical developments in the electric vehicle sector.
Fixed or mobile
If you want to use the ETAPpro in a fixed location, you can install a wall mount. When you slide the ETAPpro into the wall mount, it becomes a fixed charging station. The wall mount naturally provides power to the charger and is easy to connect. Additionally, the wall mount is equipped with a lock and keys that allow you to secure the ETAPpro so that another fan of the product can’t walk off with it.
If that were to happen, you can always see where the device is being used via the built-in GPS module, and you can remotely lock the charger!
If you want to take your charging station with you on a trip or on vacation, you can slide the ETAPpro out of the wall mount and, using the adapters, connect it to various types of outlets. Currently, adapters are available for standard household outlets (included in the standard package), for blue 16A camping plugs, and for red 16A three-phase industrial outlets (available as options).
The ETAPpro also automatically detects which adapter you’re using and sets the maximum charging current to prevent dangerous situations. In addition, the adapters are equipped with temperature sensors to protect your outlets—both in the device itself and in the plug that goes into your car. If the temperature gets too high, the charging current will be reduced or charging will stop entirely. Safety first!
Smart charger
To use the ETAPpro’s smart features, you’ll naturally need to communicate with the digital meter or a device capable of reading electricity consumption. That’s why the MTAP and CTAP were designed. With the MTAP, you can read the digital meter via the P1 port; with the CTAP, you’ll need to clip the measurement clamps onto the incoming power wires of the installation.
If you don’t have a digital meter (yet), features such as capacity-based rates do not apply, and dynamic pricing—which varies by the hour—also requires a digital meter. However, load balancing—where the charger takes household consumption into account—and load sharing—where available power is distributed across multiple chargers—are available even without a digital meter.
Using local electricity generated by solar panels is also a standard feature, which prevents you from feeding the generated electricity back into the grid for free.
On top of all this, we’ve set up an excellent breakdown service so that, in the unlikely event of a problem with the charging station, you’ll receive a replacement unit that’s configured exactly the same way, allowing you to continue using it right away while we thoroughly investigate and resolve the issue with your unit.
